I am a highly motivated and performance driven individual. Having served in the Indian Army for 15+ years, I have been posted to different terrains and profiles. This has taught me to adapt under different circumstances and deliver results. It has also taught me different facets of leadership and how to navigate through conflicting circumstances. I understand the various nuances of building culture, importance of collaboration, motivation, dealing with success & failure, coping up, leadership and self improvement. I come from a family of teachers. My father and brother are established teachers. But my motivation has been my grandfather, who served the Indian Army during the second world war. His stories and learnings were critical in forming my childhood mental framework. I was inspired by his grit and determination. I wanted to be like him in every aspect. He was my role model. But, my grandfather never forced me. He lived the path and I was too busy with my adolescent life. Life took me to a stroll. As soon as I completed by engineering degree, I joined as a lecturer in an engineering college and had long forgotten the inspiration received in my childhood. But the seeds started to sprout slowly. At the opportune moment, I received the best mentor in the form of Dr. P. He made me connect with my inspiration and urged me to take action. He was standing beside me and guiding me to choose the right career. I owe my gratitude to my grandfather and Dr. P (my first mentor). Serving in the Indian Army has been like a roller coaster ride. It taught me more about myself. I met my lady love there and am happily married to her. The tough army postings made us seasoned to the fragilities of life and the bond between us strengthened. As husband and wife, we both served our nation with utmost sincerity and courage. We stood by each other, even under extreme duress. With my wife still serving, I hung my uniform to take up a new challenge. The corporate world. The transition was challenging but I prepared well for it. I took guidance and am fortunate to get good ones. Its been 4 years now and am going strong. I chose HR as my domain. My experience in armed forces gave me a great foundation and my executive management program from IIM Indore gave me a good head start. I joined a most respected, 100 year old global company as a HR Business Partner. I continue to serve in that company as it encourages me to achieve my full potential. My learning curve is always moving up and I make sure I do not stagnate. I am an avid reader as well as a fitness enthusiast. I love to go on long car drives and spend time with my son, a budding cricketer. I am fully aware of the power of mentoring. I was not a good mentee but my mentors were extraordinary. They made me see myself and introspect. I am what I am today because of them. Now, I feel, its time to give back what I received in abundance.
