Achinteya Jayaram

My name is Achinteya Jayaram, and I'm a student at the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, majoring in a BBA and minoring in AI. I have previous experience across investment banking, private equity, venture capital, startups, and family offices. I recently went through the recruiting process for both investment banking and commercial banking (which largely follow the same networking, technical preparation, and accelerated recruiting timelines) and will be joining Citibank as a Commercial Banking Summer Analyst in Summer 2027.
Alongside recruiting, I’ve worked across several areas of finance through internships with various firms, most notably Houlihan Lokey the summer after my freshman year. My experience has included sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities, conducting market and financial analysis, supporting deal and fundraising processes, sitting in on founder and investor calls, and learning how firms assess businesses across both public and private markets.
Through these experiences, I’ve developed a strong understanding of networking, finding high-value internships early on, technical interview preparation, and how the best students position themselves for careers in high finance. I’m passionate about mentoring students who want to break into finance, especially because students often benefit most from guidance from someone who has recently gone through the process themselves.
