Currently Chief Data Scientist and Head of AI for WSP UK Ltd, a global design and engineering consultancy with ~10k employees in the UK and ~80k employees globally. We work in every sector imaginable and in almost every country.

I have worked in the Engineering Consultancy sector for the last 10 years at a Chief Data Scientist level working with businesses across the world in the Utilities, Transportation, Construction and Government spaces to deliver cutting edge digital and AI enabled tools.
I have built many different high performing digital teams in different organisations and have led delivery of new digital products and services into the market.
I have held responsibility for developing business strategies for exploiting AI and also the development of governance and risk management process to keep businesses out of trouble.
I have been mentoring people for many years at all levels. Some are seeking to successfully get in to the Data Science and AI space for the first time and are looking for how to start or transition their career. Some are established in the field but are looking to understand how to take the next step to a senior management or Director level and the different skills that requires. In each case I work with the individual to understand their needs and objectives and then work with them using a mentoring/ coaching style to help them build a plan and then execute on that plan.
Digital and AI in the 'real world' of built environments, physical assets and traditional industries requires a very different mindset and approach to the world of startups and big tech. This is why most startups fail to break through and win big clients. My career has been forged almost exclusively in this space which gives me a unique perspective that I can pass on to people either already working in these sectors or looking to move in to them.
