I've spent 25+ years leading software engineering teams — from scrappy startups to publicly traded enterprises — and the through-line has always been the same: delivery, iteration, and people first. My career has taken me through cybersecurity, SaaS, cloud, and DevSecOps — including scaling SecureWorks to process 100 billion events per day, leading security-focused engineering at GitLab, and guiding teams through acquisitions, IPOs, and everything in between. I hold three US patents and have built and led globally distributed engineering teams across multiple industries.
I mentor because I've had great guides at key moments in my own journey, and I know how much a single conversation can change your trajectory. Whether you're a new engineer trying to find your footing, a senior IC wrestling with whether to go into management, or a first-time leader navigating the gap between "being good at code" and "leading people who write it" — I've been there, and I want to help.
What I'm good at helping with:

  • Engineering leadership: making the jump, growing into it, thriving in it
  • Building and scaling teams — including remote and distributed
  • Career inflection points: promotions, pivots, job searches, executive presence
  • Navigating organizational complexity (M&A, reorgs, difficult stakeholders)
  • Finding your "why" as a technical leader
  • The intersection of technical excellence and human growth

My style:I'm a servant leader. I ask more than I tell. I'll challenge you, but I'll also be in your corner. I believe the best leaders create other leaders — not followers — and I bring that same philosophy to mentorship.I also believe in the whole person.
A few things I believe deeply:

  • Start with Why. Know your purpose before optimizing your path.
  • Impact over output. Build things — and teams — that matter.
  • Growth is necessary while being uncomfortable.
