"In advance of our call Ryo had shared his CV with me and I created a short video with my thoughts and suggestions, most of which have been adopted. I have also recommended Ryo creating a LinkedIn profile as this is very much the recruitment tool "must have" There are numerous job boards out there for the UK market, with Indeed being one of the stronger sites, but given the choice as a recruiter, I would rather have the Recruiters Licence for LinkedIn than just job postings in Indeed, Monster or other job boards. One the call, specific questions asked as to where Japanese nationals might settle. No answer at the time of the call but subsequent research suggests Golders Green, Finchley (north London), Ealing and Acton (west London) there being Japanese Schools in these areas. A question also asked on time needed in the UK before applying for a work visa or British Citizenship - best sites are the Home Office and Citizens advise. Links to relevant pages are: https://www.gov.uk/browse/citizenship/citizenship and https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/immigration/getting-british-citizenship/applying-for-british-citizenship/ Please note that in May 2025, the UK government announced a potential change to the rules which might mean needing to live in the UK for 10 years + before being able to apply for British Citizenship."
